Frequently asked questions

Here I answer the questions that patients and parents ask me most often. Your question is not here? Feel free to call me.

Osteopathy in general

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a manual method of examination and treatment for the musculoskeletal system, organs and tissues. It looks at the body as a whole. More about osteopathy

What is the difference between osteopathy and physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy works mainly with exercises and targeted treatments, usually on a doctor’s prescription. Osteopathy looks at the body as a whole and includes not only muscles and joints but also organs and connective tissue in the examination and treatment.

Does the treatment hurt?

I usually work with gentle techniques. When necessary, I use a little more pressure – always in agreement with you. If a hold feels too intense, just tell me.

What do I wear, and what do I bring?

At the first appointment I like to examine you once in your underwear. At later appointments comfortable clothing is often enough, for example soft trousers or leggings and a T-shirt. Please bring a towel. For children, please bring the yellow children’s health record booklet (U-Heft), for babies also the maternity record (Mutterpass), and a cuddly toy or toy is welcome. Your first appointment

Do I have to see a doctor first?

No, not as a rule. As a state-licensed Heilpraktikerin (non-medical practitioner), I am allowed to make diagnoses myself. A doctor’s visit makes sense mainly if your health insurer asks for a medical certificate for reimbursement. In an acute emergency, please call the emergency number 112 immediately.

How many treatments do I need?

That depends on your complaints and differs from person to person. Often it is one to three treatments. Some patients also come regularly, for example every three to four weeks. After each appointment we discuss together whether and when another appointment makes sense.

Costs and appointments

How much does a treatment cost?
  • Osteopathy for adults (about 50 minutes): €95
  • Paediatric osteopathy, first appointment (30–50 minutes): €95
  • Paediatric osteopathy, follow-up appointment (30–50 minutes): €50–95, depending on duration
  • IHHT, single session (about 50 minutes): €65
  • IHHT in a package: from €55 per session (3-session card €180, 5-session card €290, 10-session card €550)

You will receive an invoice based on the German fee schedule for non-medical practitioners (GebüH). Prices and appointments

Will my health insurance cover the cost?

You will receive an invoice from me based on the German fee schedule for non-medical practitioners (GebüH). Many statutory health insurers contribute part of the cost as a voluntary extra benefit, often only with a medical certificate. Private health insurance and supplementary insurance reimburse depending on the plan. If possible, please check with your insurer before treatment starts whether it pays something towards the cost or covers it. More about cost coverage

Do I need a referral or a prescription?

No. You need neither a referral nor a prescription for an appointment. A doctor’s visit beforehand is not required. It makes sense if your health insurer asks for a medical certificate for reimbursement.

When are your treatment hours?

Monday to Friday 8:30 am–2:30 pm, by appointment only. Other times possible by arrangement.

How do I make an appointment?

Please use my online booking calendar to plan your appointment. There you can see all free appointments and book directly – around the clock. View available appointments

How can I cancel an appointment?

Up to 24 hours beforehand, free of charge, by phone, email or WhatsApp. After that, or if you do not show up, I charge €70.

Can I give a voucher as a gift?

Yes – value and treatment vouchers are available at the practice and online. To the gift vouchers

Babies and children

From what age do you treat babies?

From birth. I additionally studied paediatric osteopathy at the Osteopathie Schule Deutschland and treat babies, toddlers and school-age children. An appointment for children takes 30 to 50 minutes. Please bring the yellow children’s health record booklet (U-Heft), for babies the maternity record (Mutterpass), and a cuddly toy or toy is welcome. More about paediatric osteopathy

May I come for osteopathy during pregnancy?

Yes. Treatments during pregnancy are possible from the 12th week of pregnancy. You are also welcome to come to me after the birth.

IHHT

What is IHHT, and what does a session involve?

A passive form of altitude training: you lie relaxed for about 50 minutes and breathe alternately lower-oxygen and higher-oxygen air through a mask. Pulse and oxygen saturation are monitored throughout. More about IHHT

Who is IHHT not suitable for?

IHHT is not suitable in cases of pregnancy, severe lung and heart disease, acute infections and acute cancer. In the preliminary conversation I ask about your health. More about IHHT

How many IHHT sessions make sense?

I recommend 10 to 15 sessions. With the 10-session card you pay €55 per session instead of €65.

Practice

Can I get treatment in English?

Yes. English is spoken fluently at the practice. Die Behandlung ist auch auf Deutsch möglich.

Where exactly is the practice, where can I park, and is it accessible?
