Osteopathy for adults in Wachenhausen
Osteopathy is a manual method of examination and treatment for the musculoskeletal system, the organs and the tissues of the body. It offers the chance to look at a person as a whole and to look for holistic solutions. At my practice in Katlenburg-Lindau, in the district of Wachenhausen, a treatment takes about 50 minutes and costs €95.
What is osteopathy?
As an osteopath, I use my hands to examine the condition and mobility of muscles, joints, organs and connective tissue. I look for restrictions in movement and tension that may be connected to your complaints.
The treatment is usually done with gentle techniques. When necessary, I also use a little more pressure to release tension. It is important to me to see the person as a whole and to support the body’s own self-regulation.

What do adults come to see me for?
Osteopathy can be used alongside other treatment for various complaints. Common reasons to come to my practice include:
- back, shoulder and neck complaints
- headaches and feelings of tension in the head and jaw area
- jaw joint complaints
- restricted mobility of joints
- tension after accidents, operations or falls
- complaints during and after pregnancy
Naming these reasons is not a promise of a cure and no guarantee of improvement. Whether osteopathic treatment can make sense in your case, we discuss in the first conversation. In an acute emergency, please call the emergency number 112 immediately.
What does a treatment involve?
An appointment takes about 50 minutes and always begins with a conversation about your complaints. What your first appointment looks like
Do I have to see a doctor first?
No, not as a rule. As a state-licensed Heilpraktikerin (non-medical practitioner), I examine you myself and make a diagnosis. A doctor’s visit makes sense mainly if your health insurer asks for a medical certificate for reimbursement. If I find during the examination that your complaints should be checked by a doctor, I will tell you.
What is the difference between osteopathy and physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy works mainly with exercises and targeted treatments, usually on a doctor’s prescription. Osteopathy looks at the body as a whole and includes not only muscles and joints but also organs and connective tissue in the examination and treatment.
Frequently asked questions about osteopathy
Does the treatment hurt?
I usually work with gentle techniques. When necessary, I use a little more pressure – always in agreement with you. If a hold feels too intense, just tell me.
What do I wear, and what do I bring?
At the first appointment I like to examine you once in your underwear. At later appointments comfortable clothing is often enough, for example soft trousers or leggings and a T-shirt. Please bring a towel. For children, please bring the yellow children’s health record booklet (U-Heft), for babies also the maternity record (Mutterpass), and a cuddly toy or toy is welcome. How many treatments do I need?
That depends on your complaints and differs from person to person. Often it is one to three treatments. Some patients also come regularly, for example every three to four weeks. After each appointment we discuss together whether and when another appointment makes sense.
