Paediatric osteopathy in Wachenhausen
I treat babies and children with gentle osteopathic techniques. Besides my five-year programme in osteopathy, I completed a 1.5-year further training in paediatric osteopathy at the Osteopathie Schule Deutschland (OSD) (Certificate in Paediatric Osteopathy, 2022). I treat babies from birth. An appointment takes 30 to 50 minutes, and the first appointment costs €95.

Why paediatric osteopathy with me?
Children are not small adults: their bodies grow and change constantly, and babies cannot say what is wrong. That is why I also trained in paediatric osteopathy.
“After the birth of my daughter I could not resist and completed additional training as a paediatric osteopath at the OSD.”
What do parents come to see me for?
Osteopathy can be used gently even with the very youngest. Especially with newborns, parents often experience that their baby cries a lot although the paediatric examination found nothing. In that case it can make sense to have your baby examined osteopathically as well.
Parents come to me, for example, when their baby …
- cries a lot and is hard to soothe
- prefers to turn the head to one side or shows an asymmetry
- has difficulty sucking or drinking
- often seems restless, for example during digestion
With older children, reasons include complaints of the musculoskeletal system, postural abnormalities, restricted mobility after falls, tension, and stomach or head aches. Naming these reasons is not a promise of a cure.
Good to know: A visit to the paediatrician beforehand is not generally necessary – it makes sense if your health insurer asks for a medical certificate for reimbursement. Osteopathy does not replace the preventive check-ups (U-Untersuchungen) at the paediatrician. In an acute emergency, please call the emergency number 112 immediately.
What does a treatment of a baby involve?
First we take time for a conversation about the pregnancy, the birth and your child’s development so far. Then I examine and treat with very gentle holds.
Your baby can be on the treatment couch, in your arms or while feeding. You stay with your child the whole time.

What should you bring?
- the yellow children’s health record booklet (U-Heft)
- for babies, the maternity record (Mutterpass)
- existing findings or doctors’ letters
- a bottle or a place to breastfeed
- changing supplies
- a cuddly toy or toy of your child
What does paediatric osteopathy cost?
| Service | Duration | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Children, first appointment | 30–50 minutes | €95 |
| Children, follow-up appointment | 30–50 minutes | €50–95 |
You will receive an invoice from me based on the German fee schedule for non-medical practitioners (GebüH). Many statutory health insurers contribute part of the cost as a voluntary extra benefit, often only with a medical certificate. Private health insurance and supplementary insurance reimburse depending on the plan. If possible, please check with your insurer before treatment starts whether it pays something towards the cost or covers it.
Frequently asked questions from parents
From what age do you treat babies?
From birth. I additionally studied paediatric osteopathy at the Osteopathie Schule Deutschland and treat babies, toddlers and school-age children. An appointment for children takes 30 to 50 minutes. Please bring the yellow children’s health record booklet (U-Heft), for babies the maternity record (Mutterpass), and a cuddly toy or toy is welcome.
May I be present during the treatment?
Yes. With babies and small children you are always present.
How many appointments does my child need?
As a rule it is one to three treatments. After each appointment we discuss together whether another treatment makes sense and at what interval.
Do I need a referral from the paediatrician?
No. A visit to the paediatrician beforehand is not generally necessary either. Some health insurers do ask for a medical certificate for reimbursement – it is best to ask them beforehand.
